В рамках Міжнародного дня корупції відбудуться перформанси: «Ресторан Україна» та «Внутрішнє переконання»

Потреба говорити про корупцію провокує потік свідомості, серію перформативних галюцинацій акторок, де на поверхню виходять дитячі спогади, особисті травми, ідіосинкразії, зізнання, відчуття професійної нереалізованості та безпорадності. Чи є ця неможливість говорити про корупцію - капітуляцією перед поставленим завданням? Чи означає вона прийняття обивательської позиції, з точки зору якої, корупція, звісно, заслуговує на засудження, але своя сорочка – до тіла ближче? Але якщо особисте – це політичне, більше того – це його причина і результат, то чи може бути цей потік особистого – жестом звільнення: від потреби завчати чиїсь слова, від прописаного сценарію, від сценариста, від авторитета, від боса, від Батька? Врешті, саме антиавторитарний мотив, так само, як і антиолігархічний чи патріотичний – часто стає одним із побічних ефектів антикорупційних рухів.
Однак тіло Батька вже давно лежить на столі. Що означає, що сценарію дійсно немає, і фінал – відкритий. А тому вивільнення особистого може стати як жестом прийняття відповідальності, так і захопити собою настільки, що ми й не зауважимо, як місце старого Батька непомітно обійме новий.

«Внутрішнє переконання»
Слово «корупція» походить від латинського «com» («разом») та «rumpere» («ламати», «руйнувати»), - що у поєднанні означає порушення деякого порядку. Для чого окремої людини - недостатньо, потрібен співучасник, а в найкращому випадку – ціла мережа, «сім’я», система співучасників, побудована на взаємовигоді та взаємопідтримці. Але дослідження, що лягло в основу перформансу: персональні інтерв’ю, опубліковані матеріали щодо випадків протистояння корупції, дослідження явища в різних історичних, культурних та релігійних площинах, - виявляє ще дещо. А саме: яким може виявитися потенціал окремої людини, яка зважується піти проти системи. Ці люди не подібні до героїв, навпаки: з усіма їхніми слабкостями, неоднозначними судженнями та земними мріями вони постають аж «занадто» людяними.
Суперечливість їхніх характерів дозволяє інакше поглянути на саме явище корупції: через прийняття себе, і всіх проявів «людського», одним із яких є схильність вдаватися до корупційної поведінки. Але прийняти себе – означає і прийняти іншого, інших людей, попри недоступність та незрозумілість їх внутрішнього світу та мотивів. Тільки так стає можливою солідарність. І тільки так «прийняття себе» може стати підґрунтям для зменшення рівня корупції: не за допомогою сплесків народної агресії, прямого насильства чи актів самосуду, а внаслідок ефективного та продуманого протистояння.

In the framework of International Corruption Day, “Ukraine Restaurant” and “Inner Conviction” performances will take place in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Chi?in?u.
“Ukraine Restaurant”
The need to speak about corruption results in the actresses’ stream of consciousness and numerous performative hallucinations, which reveal their childhood memories, personal traumas, idiosyncrasies, confessions, feelings of the lack of professional self-realization and helplessness. Is this inability to speak about corruption a failure to complete the task? Does it embrace the philistine perspective, where corruption clearly must be condemned, but self comes first? But if the personal is political, and moreover its cause and result, could, in this case, the stream of the personal be a gesture of liberation: from the need to learn by heart somebody’s words, from the written script, from the scriptwriter, from the authority, from the boss, from the Father? Eventually, the antiauthoritarian motif, as well as anti-oligarchic and patriotic, is one of frequent side effects of anticorruption movements.
However, the Father’s body has lain on the table for quite some time. Which means that there is, in fact, no script and the end is open. Therefore, the release of the personal is still able to become either a gesture of taking responsibility or to capture our attention so much so that we won’t notice that the place of the old Father is already taken by a new One.

“Inner Conviction”
The word “corruption” comes from Latin - “com” (“with, together”) and “rumpere” (“to break”), meaning the disruption of an order that involves not one person but requires an accomplice, or even a network, a “family”, a system of accomplices, built on mutual benefit and support. But the research on which the performance is based on - face-to-face interviews, published materials on the corruption opposition cases, the study on the phenomenon from different historical, cultural and religious perspectives - reveals one more thing. That is the capacity of a single individual who decides to stand against the system. These people don’t look like heroes, quite the contrary: they, with all their weaknesses, inconsistent judgments and earthly dreams seem to be even too “human”.
The inconsistency of their characters provides us with another vision of the phenomenon of corruption: through embracing yourself and all manifestation of human nature, and corruptibility as a part of. But to embrace yourself at the same time means to embrace the other, other people, despite incomprehensibility of their inner worlds and motives. This is the only way for solidarity to become possible. And this is the only way that “embracing yourself” can provide the basis for corruption reduction: not by an upsurge in aggression, direct violence or vigilante justice but by dealing with it in a thoughtful and efficient way.
